Frogtown
Frogtown features a lively mix of jigs, reels, polkas, marches, and waltzes from across the globe. We play a variety of music from Canada, Scotland, Ireland, France, Sweden, and Appalachian Old Time to ensure that there is something for everyone in the mix. The group members are Janet Anders on flute and penny-whistle, Nancy Holmes bowing fiddle and violin, Cleve Yocom on concertina, Tim Cavileer on guitar and mandolin, Bob Chenoweth on bodhran, bones, and assorted percussion, Tim Hatten squeezing the piano accordion, and Dave Vollmer plucking the upright bass. The name Frogtown is a nod to an old Moscow neighborhood at the bottom of Morton street near Hogg Creek. This part of town was known for a local resident's sawmill and the cacophony of frog calls that came from the creek. Perhaps the music of Frogtown mimics the symphony of frog calls (ribbits, chirps, and hoots) and the sounds of nature that emanated from the area on a warm Summer's eve? We suspect an occasional similarity - you decide!

Collin Morlock with opener Cameron McGill
We are so excited to announce this show! An intimate show of friends, incredible songwriters, against the wintery stillness of the holidays in North Idaho. This will be a should to remember, and a special treat for Moscow. Join us! Doors open at 6pm with a $10.00 suggested donation.
Collin Morlock, a former barista and University of Idaho graduate. Imagine a crooner like Chris Isaak or Roy Orbison singing cinematic Western ballads in a spirit akin to Marty Robbins or Tom Waits and it might start to resemble Collin Morlock. Currently based in northern New Mexico, the singer-songwriter/composer/producer was raised in Idaho and spent a period of years collecting influences in New Orleans, Nashville and Wyoming, all the while evolving a body of work drawn from 70’s Laurel Canyon songwriters, early Pop, Spaghetti Western, Classic Country and film music and blends them with stories about heartbroken hopefuls of the West. The songs are simple and familiar, but somehow elude the easy trappings and clichés of genre that they were drawn from. His first self-produced collection of songs "Moonflower Demos" was released in summer 2023, followed by a second self-produced EP, "Thanks For The Song," in spring 2024.
