The Unfold Writing Community is excited to present our poems to the people of the Palouse! Poets from all over the country will gather in Moscow at One World Cafe to share their poems with the community. The reading will be at 7pm. Sign-ups are not open to the public, but our community—which typically only meets virtually—is thrilled to share our poems in-person with the Palouse community. Come listen to some beautiful poetry and cheer us on!

Angel is an indie solo acoustic guitarist and live looper new to the Moscow music scene. He covers a variety of artists ranging from The Beatles and Ritchie Valens to The Arctic Monkeys and Jack Johnson, all while adding his own flair to create a captivating musical experience. Angel is guaranteed to play familiar tunes and keep audiences entertained whenever he is performing.

Ally Fraser is a singer/songwriter from Washington State, most recently living in Pullman. Ally plays an eclectic combination of acoustic covers from a multitude of genres, as well as her own original music. She aspires to make meaningful connections through sharing music and the songs that she writes. Genres include indie/folk, and popular covers.

Join Country-Western Singer, Blaine Andrew Ross, for an intimate evening of stories, original music, and traditional western music at One World Café in Moscow, Idaho.

Currently Blaine is traveling around the PNW riding bucking horses competing as a Saddle Bronc rider in open rodeos and playing solo shows. Existing somewhere between the road and the rodeo.

He started his last band "Blaine Andrew Ross & The Contraband Cowboys" in 2022 and has won third in the University of  Idaho's Argonaut "Best of Moscow Bands" two years in a row. In 2024 he was nominated for the NW-CMA Awards for "Favorite Newcomer" and "Best Male Vocalist". In 2025 he was one of four acts voted on by the public to be considered as the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale Showcase Band.

Gefilte Trout is a Klezmer group that performs traditional Eastern European Jewish and Roma (Gypsy) folk  music.  The music ranges from lyrical, melancholy songs to boisterous dance tunes that include waltzes, horas and Bulgars.  For many years Gefilte Trout has performed at weddings, parties, cafes and many community gatherings and events.  The group has repeatedly been featured at the Spokane Folk festival.  Members of Gefilte Trout include Bill Thompson (guitar), Bob Garcia (bass), Bill Voxman (clarinet), and Elena Panchenko (vocals).  Elena, of Ukrainian descent, sings in Yiddish, Russian, Roma, Ladino, and Hebrew.

David Rogers, Classical Crossover Guitar

Termed, ‘a prominent guitarist,’ by the New York Times and praised by The Washington Post for his ‘astonishingly florid’ improvisations, David Rogers presents an evening of Spanish music, Up-Tempo Latin, The Beatles, flashy settings of Pop Songs, as well as music by J.S. Bach and original compositions. He also tells many stories and jokes about the music.

An endorsing artist for Aquila Strings (Italy), his music has been featured in major guitar magazines such as Fingerstyle Guitar in the United States and Akustic Gitarre, in Germany. His solo and ensemble performances have been broadcast on American National Public Radio and Bayrische Rundfunk.

Hailing from the Northeastern states, Tyler John Kraehling has been traveling through the country with eyes open, taking stock of the lives of the people who inhabit it. Drenched in the tradition of American troubadours, he tells stories that speak to the novelties and banalities of what it means to walk this earth. Living everywhere from Los Angeles, New York City, Idaho, Vermont, Texas and most recently Montana, he boasts a claim that he is in a unique company of travelers who are qualified to tell the stories they do, with the universe of detail they do. His fingerpicking styles range from the folk staples of John Prine and Townes Van Zandt to the country-blues of legends Furry Lewis, Taj Mahal and Chris Smither. Armed with songs that will make you feel the full spectrum of emotion, and with clothes and guitars that are mostly second-hand; his songs are anything but.

I first picked up a guitar to play a song for my wife on our anniversary. That’s when I discovered the joy of connecting with people through music. My sound is rock with a positive vibe, and my biggest influences are John Mayer, Tom Petty, and Jason Mraz. My music starts from a place of poetry and creative inspiration, and  I use my “rocket-scientist brain” to find structures that help me explore that initial burst of inspiration and feeling – like writing haiku's, my favorite! UIdaho’s Prison Education Initiative (PEI) is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of incarcerated students at the Idaho Correctional Institution – Orofino (ICIO), the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center (PWCC), and the Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC). While the Pell Grant covers many college costs, expenses like application fees and textbooks remain the responsibility of the students. To raise money for these expenses and spread awareness about college-in-prison initiatives, the PEI is hosting a spoken word night featuring the stories, poems, and other works by incarcerated authors at Idaho Correctional Institution - Orofino. Join us for an evening of creative works and powerful performances as we amplify the voices of those behind bars and highlight the transformative power of prison education.
